Below you can find rubrics for whichever project option you choose. Remember to hand one in with your project or to email it to me. A group only needs to hand in one. And the due date is Wednesday.

7th and 8th Grade Homework Due Thursday

Under Class Resources are the links that will bring you to the "surveys".
Complete each one and record in your notebooks what the survey results are. Does the survey say you support McCain or Obama?

Then post a brief reflection on the process, everything we have been doing in class and the surveys, on the blog. Your post should be a well written, well edited paragraph that answers the following questions:

1. Do any results not match up? For example, do both surveys have you supporting the same candidate? In class we figured out what your political party might be-does your political party decision support the candidate the survey says you support?
Example-in class you might have been a Democrat but the surveys match you to McCain, or each survey gives you a different answer.

2. Which do you think is more important-your political party or matching your beliefs to those of the candidates no matter their political party?

3. Should you vote on the issues or should you support a political party-even if you do not agree with the candidate?

Collect data on where Obama and McCain stand on the issues, and summarize their beliefs in the packet we have been working with. Use the website www.votegopher.com. Go to the Issues link to find the breakdown of where the two candidates stand on the issues. If you have question explore the website-they also explain all the issues and the stand the candidates take on the issues (issue Homepage) Remember you do not need to write it down word for word, but you do need to summarize where each one stands on the issues.

Seventh Grade:Homework Part 1

For tomorrow's homework go to the website www.votegopher.com. Go to the Issues link and summarize Obama's position and McCain's position. Remember you do not need to write it down word for word, but you do need to summarize where each one stands on the issues.

Then in class you will discuss each issue with your group, and share the information you have collected and summarized, by the end of class the whole chart should be filled out.
